The sound it is superb and you and enhance the acoustic using the digital to make it even louder. Playing it with headphones feel so natural, barely forgot that I am using them. So many features to explore. The sales representatives are so nice and the customer service quite responsive and efficient. It was worth the investment. Love my Kawai GL30 ATX2, play it every day!

Comment on Kawai MP10 Digital Piano by Roscoe Hoffman https://kawaius.com/product/mp10/#comment-11196 Sun, 05 Jan 2025 02:52:50 +0000 https://kawaius.com/?post_type=product&p=11830#comment-11196 I have been playing piano and organ for 28 years professionally touring and studio work. I am very picky with my keyboards and have owned multiple high end keyboards
– Roland Fantom, Korg Triton Extreme, Yamaha Motif XF, and Nord Stage 2 – and 88 key controllers but this… the feel of the MP10 is above any of the above boards. The Nord Stage 2 was my fav until I touched this. The sound of the acoustic pianos on the Nord are better, but these are very good and will not disappoint you. The strings and pads are a great additive, but the electric pianos (Rhodes, Wurlitzer) stand out the most for me. PIANO – EP – PADS are separate sections that have their own volume control. I love this. EP comes with an amp button that models the sound of your electric piano to various amps. There is also Reverb and 2Fxs buttons per sound. Fx vary from multiple kinds of pan, flanger, chorus, and ping. The ability to save a sound setting as a preset is great. Yes the sounds are limited to very few but it is not a workstation. The sell for me was seeing how many times I found myself wanted to play it and being willing to sell other keyboards for it.

The weight of this board – 70 pound – is an important feature, but I do not have intentions to use this for gigging.

Outputs!!! Not just your normal L/R and headphone but also a built in DI (xlr) with ground lift. 3 pedal options. USB, midi in/out/thru.

Modulation and pitch bend wheels function like any other but they are solid.

As mentioned above, the feel of the keys… butter. The keybed is not your normal plastic keys but it is real wood with great action. The sound of the keybed is controlled and quiet. No loud clicking. This is EASILY one of the best keyboard purchases I have ever made. No regrets on this purchase.

The feel and sound of the Kawai are totally convincing. Speakers across the back make the sounds realistic. Sound is completely convincing with headphones. I mainly use the SK concert grand settings. Feel of the keys is completely authentic to me, repetitions are precise. This instrument makes one want to practice! The touch controls, ability to shift pitches, and the other functions easy to understand and use.

Our church has a Kawai grand and I am very pleased with how I can go back and forth between the 2 instruments and feel at home. I have played the piano for many years and can enjoy playing a variety of styles on this keyboard. It does half pedaling. This keyboard sounds uniformly great in all octaves. The voices included are versatile and not gimmicky sound effects. The feel of the keys reminds me of my grandmother’s ivory keys rather than plastic. It looks, feels and plays like an acoustical grand piano ( as well as many other voices). I had high expectation when I went in and tried out the Kawai. My piano teacher a professional pianist and I put the CN 301 through its paces. I have been very satisfied.

Comment on Kawai GX-1 Grand Piano by Drew https://kawaius.com/product/gx-1/#comment-9578 Thu, 29 Aug 2024 18:07:21 +0000 https://kawaius.com/?post_type=product&p=4288#comment-9578 I love this small but mighty instrument. It’s so well designed and made that it draws me in, inspiring the work of practice. Its sound is clear and direct across the entire range—but warmly rounded in Kawai’s intentional way—producing bell-like tones that are coupled to a surprisingly long sustain. Melodies can really sing. The soundboard’s contribution reminds me of the best sitka-spruce-topped guitars I’ve heard, delicious with a hint of cinnamon spice. The action is notable, providing a leverage that really does feel more like concert-sized instruments. The extended key length is not a gimmick. Dynamic range is enormous and the piano doesn’t distort or top out. This can be a very loud instrument, if played as such. There is of course a very small compromise in the bass, which I notice most in the lowest two notes, but it’s surprisingly slight, and the bass overall is clear and supportive with well-managed inharmonicity that activates the entire cabinet of the instrument in an intimate and pleasurable way. I never feel artistically limited by the piano’s size. Some may want to pay more for a GX-2 due to concerns about string length, but I think that variation in the sound of individual instruments even of the same model comes into play here (don’t buy a piano you haven’t played), and I’m really pleased with my GX-1. It’s an incredible value and the perfect size for my space.

It would be useful if there was an option (set via the editor software) for the Controller to automatically power on when power is applied.
The top would be better if it was flat. And the ends should be level with the top.
The sockets on the back should be it little bit lower so that a rear extension desk/shelf can be aligned level with the top of the Controller.

I had to stretch a bit to afford it, but was it ever worth it. I LOVE the quality, playability and the sound and I don’t feel that I’m missing anything that a great piano should have. It’s the perfect size for my house. My technician was complimentary, saying that being a quality piano it would be easy for him to work on. Not that it has needed much work. It’s still in beautiful shape. I would recommend Kawai to anyone interested in owning a very good piano.
